This course introduces Green Building Construction concepts and practices. Topics include green building definition, guidelines, regulations and standards. Evaluation of cost/benefit of green construction methods and green construction rating systems. Relevant case studies will be reviewed. Two site visits will be included.

No Class on Feb 20th STAT Holiday unless otherwise directed by instructor. There are 2 site visits during this course, hard hats and steel toed boots are required. Schedule may be adjusted to accommodate site visit. Transportation to site visits are not arranged by BCIT. This course is an approved elective to the Construction Operations Program.
