Course Overview
Building owners, managers, and their trusted advisors face evolving risks to their physical assets and business performance. When proactively characterized, these evolving risks present new business opportunities. Through this course, learners will gain an understanding of climate-aligned building asset management and how capital planning processes can be adapted to consider the business risks and opportunities presented by climate change. Throughout this course, learners will build a foundational knowledge of climate-aligned building asset management; apply these principles to their own organizations; and take the first steps of assessing change-readiness, setting goals, and initiating a plan.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify physical and transition climate risks affecting building assets and organizational operations.
- Assess the impacts of climate-related risks on asset performance, service delivery, and business outcomes.
- Evaluate the business value of climate-informed capital planning.
- Develop and communicate a compelling case for climate-informed capital planning within their organization.
