Course Overview
This is the final component of the IPEA Statement of Completion and will be comprised of 6-8 weeks of clinical training within the employer site. Applicants will be immersed within the clinical setting to assess their competence in the delivery of safe high-quality person-centered care essential to the practice of clinical perfusion. Over a maximum of 8 weeks, twenty satisfactory cases must be pumped and no more than 4 non-critical failures are permissible. BCIT clinical criteria, aligned with the CSCP National Competency Profile will be used for evaluation purposes and accessible through Comptracker. Clinical assessment will be conducted by an experience Clinical Perfusionist within the site of employment, except for the final evaluation, which will be overseen by an external evaluator appointed by the CSCP Board of Directors.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Meet the National Entry-Level Competency Profile for Clinical Perfusionist to provide safe, effective, compassionate, and ethical patient care in a variety of work environments as well as BCIT Cardiovascular Perfusion Advanced Certificate program learning outcomes. - Please contact Cardiovascular Perfusion program assistant at perfusion@bcit.ca This clinical takes place daily from 7:00 to 15:00 and can range from 6 to 9 weeks. The minimal expected clinical time is 225 hours.
