Course Overview

The Heat Pump Maintenance and Repair course is designed to equip HVAC technicians and maintenance professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heat pump systems. Heat pumps play a crucial role in providing heating, cooling, and humidity control in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, making it essential to ensure their proper functioning through regular maintenance and timely repairs.

70% in HVAX 3200 and 70% in HVAX 3210

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Demonstrate proficiency in performing routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and lubricating moving parts.
Interpret manufacturer manuals and specifications to ensure proper maintenance procedures are followed for different types of heat pump systems.
Diagnose common issues and malfunctions in heat pump systems, such as refrigerant leaks, compressor failure, and electrical faults.
Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, multimeters, and leak detectors, to troubleshoot heat pump problems effectively.
Develop strategies for preventive maintenance scheduling and implementation to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of heat pump systems.
Implement safety protocols and procedures when working with electrical components, refrigerants, and high-pressure systems during maintenance and repair tasks.
Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements related to heat pump maintenance and repair.
