Course details

This course provides students with an in-depth analysis of the uses and evidentiary value of both digital and analogue video. It analyzes the proliferation of video cameras in today's society and demonstrates to investigators how they can take advantage of this accurate and powerful source of evidence. Through site surveys, students will gain an increased awareness and understanding of the use of video surveillance technologies and techniques. Students interpret recent Supreme Court decisions. Investigators are challenged to look for video at every crime scene; learn how to use it, and how to apply proper rules of evidence in order to protect it for court.
