Course Overview
Students will learn about WCB OHS regulations concerning general scaffold erection procedures; types of scaffolds; portable and fixed ladders; natural and synthetic ropes; knots, bends, and hitches; hoisting, lifting and jacking equipment; and methods of hanging and installing ductwork.

Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Describe WCB OHS regulation and general scaffold erection procedures.
- Describe WCB regulation and erection procedures for steel scaffolds.
- Describe WCB regulation and erection procedures for wooden scaffolds.
- Describe the WCB OHS regulation for portable and fixed ladders.
- Identify fiber ropes, knots, bends and hitches.
- Describe hoisting equipment.
- Describe safe procedures for using lifting and jacking equipment.
- Describe methods of hanging and installing ductwork.
