Course Overview
The Explorations in Aviation Careers statement of completion with an opportunity to explore Canada's expanding aviation and aerospace industries and discover wide-ranging opportunities and career pathways. Students will complete 3 months of study at North Surrey Secondary, attend a 5-week course at BCIT's aerospace campus, and complete a work experience placement, arranged by the school district, with an aviation industry company. This is a pilot project and will be reviewed upon completion to determine future intakes and feasibility.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, the students will be able to:
- Describe the safety, security and service operations of an airport entity in Canada.
- Describe the safety, security and service operations of an airline entity in Canada.
- Perform tasks using some of the tools used in aviation maintenance.
- Explain some of the requirements and tasks in inspection of an aircraft or component.
- Explain some of the aerodynamic forces involved in fixed wing and rotary wing flight.
