Course Overview
This course introduces students to the concepts of cloud computing, forensics and security. The course will touch on advanced cloud concepts, including security and privacy, and discuss the best methods to store, control, manage and access private and corporate data in the cloud while addressing issues such as risk management and disaster recovery. The course will discuss the modern cloud forensics approaches and challenges with preserving, collecting and processing cloud-based data and the best methods and tools to commence a forensics investigation in the cloud.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Differentiate the concepts of cloud computing and cloud security.
- Describe the layout and the infrastructure of various cloud service providers.
- Explain the importance of cloud data confidentiality and security.
- Demonstrate how to access, store and extract data from various cloud sources.
- Perform forensics acquisition and analysis of cloud-based data.
- Develop a cloud based forensic lab/service.
- Assess the challenges and perspectives of cloud-based digital forensics.
