Course Overview
We all manage risk every day, mostly without being conscious of it. This course will introduce students to modern Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) theories. Students will have the opportunity to identify, analyze and manage (control) risk in conventional and unconventional ways. They will document and apply proven risk management tools to real life scenarios and have the opportunity to meet Risk Managers in a guest lecture format. Upon completion of the course, students will have the ability to apply practical risk management theories to their personal and professional lives.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify technical, financial, strategic and hazard risks affecting business performance.
- Evaluate, critically review and apply a cause and origin analysis of loss.
- Apply Failure Mode and Effect Analysis and pre-loss preparation techniques to case study and real life scenarios.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently to meet individual objectives in written and oral formats.
- Demonstrate ability to apply risk concepts to given scenarios in a group / team format.
