Course Overview
This two day course is an introduction to fundamental operational chainsaw maintenance, safe handling and operation. Chainsaw users will understand and demonstrate their ability to safely prepare themselves and their equipment for use; operate and maintain chainsaws as required for their work.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- List the parts of a chainsaw and safety features.
- List and wear the appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
- Demonstrate the basic operational maintenance of a chainsaw (ie; cleaning, fuelling, sharpening).
- Demonstrate basic safe bucking, limbing and brushing practices. (common cuts).
- Identify personal limitations (ie; what should be avoided and when to request a skilled professional).
- Describe related WorksafeBC legislation and Metro Vancouver SOPs.
