Course Overview
Commences with the proportioning of asphalt mixes including the analysis and calculations required to determine the physical properties of the mix. Step-by- step procedures are given for mix design including the methodology, test specimens, procedures and interpretation of test data for two mix design methods. Fundamentals of manufacturing hot-asphalt mixes (storage, mixing methods, mixing plants, production, inspection) are covered, including hot-mix recycling and special mix designs.
