Course Overview
This course provides you with the required safe work practices that must be applied when working in the HVAC trade and with others in the mechanical trades. Some trade specific safety practices as they relate to the HVAC trade are also discussed.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Define WHMIS and Employee/Employer Obligations
- Use Safe Work Practices for Refrigerant Handling
- State Personal Shop and Site Safety Rules
- Use Safe Work Practices for Piping Trades:
- Safe work practices
- Safe handling of hazardous materials
- Sections of WCB applicable to piping trades
- Lock out procedures
- Shock hazard of electrical equipment
- Obtain Certification for Powder Actuated Tools
