Course Overview
Inspecting mechanical insulation for quality standards and installation techniques requires a general knowledge of insulation principles, the selection of materials, and installation techniques. This course introduces students to the materials commonly used to insulate piping, ductwork, and plenums, in addition to the materials and jacketing used for repairs and retrofits. The common applications for these materials are also discussed. Note: This course is one of four courses related to mechanical insulation, heat and frost, training for mechanical insulation inspectors: www.bcit.ca/study/courses/ppgs1210,ppgs1220,ppgs1230,ppgs1240 .
