Course Overview
This entry level course is designed to introduce the participants to work safely around all electrified vehicles(xEV) SAE J1715 protocol and the potential danger associated with high voltage components. Students need to understand basic automotive hand tools, 12-volt electrical circuit operation and navigating safely around xEVs. Previous experience on how to interact with the vehicle will be beneficial but not crucial for success in this course. This course covers various personal protective equipment and requirements around safe working conditions associated with high-voltage vehicles.

- Automotive Service Technician Apprentice Level 1 or Electrician Apprentice Level 1 or equivalent training

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify personal protective equipment for high-voltage vehicles.
- Differentiate between standard and insulated high-voltage tools.
- Explain safe working proximity requirements for high-voltage vehicles.
- Describe the high-voltage safety disconnect procedure.
- Explain procedures for lifting or hoisting a high-voltage vehicle.
