Course Overview
This course provides an overview of the inspection and testing requirements for unit equipment for emergency lighting systems. Students will work with various types of batteries, chargers and testers, and perform applicable tests and calculations. Building code requirements and techniques for trouble-shooting emergency lighting units will be covered.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify different types and sizes of batteries.
- Determine an equivalent replacement battery for an emergency lighting unit.
- Perform the tests and measurements required by building codes of emergency lighting units.
- Use Ohm’s and Joules Law to confirm emergency lighting units are installed correctly.
- Repair emergency lighting units.
