Geomatics Online Info Session

June 22 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm PDT

Geomatics is the art and science of acquiring, managing, and presenting geospatial (2D/3D) information. It is a discipline with a long and rich history and quickly emerging into one of the most exciting information sciences of the digital age.

Thank you for your interest in the Geomatics Engineering Online Info Session – available via Zoom on June 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

  • Geomatics (Surveying & Mapping) is the discipline of inter-related geospatial sciences concerned with the collection, management, and presentation of geographic data. These include GNSS (GPS), land surveying, cadastral studies and land use planning, cartography, geodesy, photogrammetry and remote sensing, as well as hydrography (surveying on bodies of water).
  • BCIT’s Geomatics Engineering Technology Program offers a two-year diploma in Geomatics which will appeal to students looking to immediately begin a career in industry as a Geomatics technologist. Students can further opt for two years of advanced study toward the Bachelor of Science Degree in Geomatics on the way to becoming a Professional Land Surveyor.
