Entrance Requirements
Who Qualifies
All three Associate Certificates share the same entrance requirements. If you meet them, you can apply to any of the three programs.
These programs are designed with working professionals in mind — part-time, blended delivery means you can build credentials without stepping away from your career. If your job is already touching data, analytics, or AI and you want structured, recognized skills to back it up, these certificates are built for you.
These courses are commonly completed as part of BCIT’s Business Diploma programs. Graduates of other post-secondary business programs may have equivalent courses that qualify.
Important: BCIT applies a five-year relevancy window to prior coursework. Courses completed more than five years ago may need to be retaken or supplemented.
English proficiency requirement: Category 2 — English Studies 12 (67%) or equivalent.

BSYS 2000 – Applied Data Analytics in Excel (or equivalent)
- Minimum grade: 50%
- Required for: ACAI, ACBI, ACDM
BSYS 2065 – Business Systems Programming (or equivalent)
- Minimum grade: 50%
- Required for: ACAI, ACBI, ACDM
OPMT 1130 – Business Statistics (or equivalent)
- Minimum grade: 50%
- Required for: ACAI, ACBI, ACDM
OPMT 3197 – Management Science OR
OPMT 3301 – Quantitative Methods for Business
- Minimum grade: 50%
- Required for: ACAI only
