Exam Day Guidelines

We are here to guide you through the process of booking your exam using our convenient online booking system. Follow these step-by-step instructions to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience.

Important message: Effective April 1, 2026, examination fees for non-BCIT students will increase to $75.00 plus GST for exams lasting three hours or less. Exams exceeding three hours will incur additional fees.

Please note:

BCIT trades students, your exam scheduling is coordinated by your instructors and does not require registration.
Health Sciences Students can request a complimentary exam session at BCIT’s Burnaby Campus through the Distance & Online Learning website.

Policies and Procedures

Please arrive on time or as communicated to you by the Test Centre and/or your instructor.
Exams will not be released if you have not arrived on time to receive the full time allotted for your exam.
If you are going to be late, please contact us at your earliest convenience for further guidance. The Test Centre cannot accommodate late arrivals that are 30 minutes beyond scheduled exam start times. Please also be advised that your home institutions tardiness policy may not allow late arrivals.

No electronic devices, including cell phones, and smart watches are allowed.
All electronic devices must be turned off and stored in designated areas.
Personal headphones generally not permitted unless approved by your home institution.
Earplugs are allowed during the exam session.
Personal earplugs require assessment administrator inspection and approval.
Disposable earplugs are available upon request.

Specific directions and guidelines will be provided by the assessment administrator during the check-in process.
Questions to the assessment administrators are allowed during the exam session. However, they cannot answer content-related inquiries.
When you have completed your examination, the assessment administrator will be there if you require any assistance submitting the exam and/or checking out.
Policies regarding early exit from the exam session vary by home institution. For information regarding your home institution’s policy on exiting an exam session, please contact them directly.
For examination results, please contact your home institution/instructor directly.

No food or drinks are allowed in the BCIT Test Centres, except for medical/health circumstances that were communicated to the test centre and approved prior to the exam session.
Each home institution has its own washroom break policy, which BCIT Assessment Administrators will enforce and inform you at during the check-in process.
There are washroom facilities available at each of the BCIT Test Centre locations, including unisex/gender-neutral facilities.

There is paid parking at each of our BCIT Test Centre locations, with the exception of the Annacis Island Campus (Delta), where parking is available at no charge on a first come, first served basis. Find details on parking at BCIT.
