Flexible learning students (Part-time students)

Contact your program assistant for approval to write outside of your class’s scheduled exam session.
- - Once approval is granted, you can schedule your exam through our online registration system, where you will be able to choose your preferred testing location (Downtown Campus or Burnaby Campus), date, and time.
  - To complete your online registration process, you are required to pay an exam invigilation fee to reserve your seat. This fee is non-transferable and non-refundable, and must be paid via MasterCard or Visa only. Visa Debit and Amex is not accepted.
    - The invigilation fee for exams that are for 3-hours or less is $52 + GST.
    - For exams that are over 3-hours, there is an additional charge of $12 per hour (or part thereof) + GST.
Once you have booked your exam, you will receive a confirmation email with the details of your exam session. This includes proctor information, Test Centre location, and the date and time of your exam booking.
Please note that it is your responsibility to forward the confirmation email to your program assistant.
Your program assistant will confirm the exam information and proctor guidelines with BCIT’s external Test Centre.

Welding Apprentice students (Level 3 and Level 4) and Welding Upgraders (C Level, B Level, and A Level) write exams on a drop-in basis at the Test Centre.
Prior to dropping in to write your first exam, please ensure that you’ve scheduled a Test Centre Orientation in NE1 – 291, which will be your home Test Centre.

Request a complimentary exam session at BCIT’s Burnaby Campus through the Distance & Online Learning website.
To write exams at BCIT’s Test Centres outside the scheduled date and time, payment of a non-refundable, non-transferable invigilation fee is required.
