Peer tutoring is free and on a drop-in basis only. No advanced booking or prior registration required. Check out the current peer tutoring drop-in schedule.

  • Most of our tutors work in-person at the main floor of the Burnaby Campus Library – unless otherwise indicated in the schedule.
  • If a tutor is indicated to be working online, please go to the Learning Hub > BCIT Peer Tutoring > Activities > Class for Teams or follow detailed instructions here.

Learning Commons tutors are students at BCIT – peers who have achieved superior grades in their previous terms and who understand the pressures and challenges of being a BCIT student. They are here to:

  • Help you learn and apply new course concepts
  • Share learning strategies that have helped them succeed

Peer tutors wear the red shirt uniform that says ‘Peer Tutor’ in white font at the back and tutor IDs showing their program and name. There are also table signs for each program reserving the tables at the main floor of the library. A Welcome Desk host is also available for general inquiries and help in connecting with or locating tutors.
