Growing Together: Indigenous garden harvest event & food security gathering

September 23 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm PDT

An Elder presenting at the Indigenous garden event last year to a crowd of people

We planted the seeds in the spring, seedlings in June, and now it’s time to celebrate a summer of growth at the Indigenous Garden.

Join Indigenous Initiatives and the Food Security Committee on September 23 to learn about traditional medicine teachings and Indigenous harvesting practices. Enjoy a free harvest lunch featuring Three Sisters Soup made with corn, beans, and squash grown in the garden. Bannock, salmon patties, and beverages will also be served.

Wednesday, September 23
11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Courtyard between SW1 and SW3, Burnaby Campus

This event is part of a week of activities leading up to the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Please register so we know how many people to expect for lunch.
