Cedar Weaving Workshop - Mini Hats

September 25 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm PDT

Promotional graphic for BCIT Indigenous Initiatives' Truth and Reconciliation Week 2026. The left side features an orange background with the text “Truth and Reconciliation Week 2026” and “Cedar Weaving Workshop by Shy Watters: Mini Hats,” along with the BCIT and Indigenous Initiatives logos. The right side shows a close-up photograph of a handwoven miniature cedar hat with blue woven trim and ties, displayed on a tabletop. A decorative wave pattern appears along the bottom of the graphic, and the overall design uses orange and natural cedar tones.

Join Indigenous artist Shy Watters for a hands-on workshop and learn the art of weaving a Mini Cedar Hat. Guided by Shy’s step-by-step instruction, participants will create their own cedar hat while learning about the cultural significance, teachings, and benefits of this traditional practice.

Whether you are new to weaving or have previous experience, all are welcome to participate in this creative and reflective experience.

Registration is encouraged as space and materials are limited.
