We live in a digital age where information equates to power and wealth - your informaiton! This course will help you understand the minefield that is our digital landscape and aid you in protecting your private information as you make more informed decisions. *Note: Thank you for your interest in a BCIT – Free Online Learning course. Once registered, log in to learn.bcit.ca with your BCIT email address and password to access your online course.   • Explain the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
  • Explain the Collection, Transmission, Processing and Storage of personal information in a cloud-based environment.
  • Explain Use and Disclosure of personal information.
  • Identify security threats.
  • Use strategies to improve the security of your personal data.
  • Understand the implications of a data breach.
