Sustainability and South Campus Infrastructure Renewal an Envision Case Study

November 5 from 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm PST

Schematic design cross-section-rendering shows some impact of the BCIT South Campus Infrastructure Renewal project.

A Living Labs Lecture

Wednesday November 5th, 2025

BCIT’s South Campus Infrastructure Renewal project will combine updated underground infrastructure with reimagined landscaping on the south side of campus.

BCIT’s new buildings like Tall Timber Student Housing are designed to achieve certifications which include sustainability measures. SCIR is using the Envision Framework to apply a similar sustainability lens to infrastructure planning. This offers a holistic approach, emphasizing environmental, social, and economic benefits.

In this Living Labs lecture Jill Roth, and Quin MacKenzie, from Luuceo Consulting will look at how the Envision Framework is being applied to the SCIR project and how it can be used in enhancing large scale infrastructure developments

Topics include:

  • Understanding the Envision framework and its relevance to campus infrastructure.
  • How early design workshops and guidelines shape sustainable outcomes.
  • SCIR’s sustainability wins as practical applications of Envision principles.
  • The certification process and scoring criteria for sustainable infrastructure.

Presenters:

  • Jill Roth, Senior Consultant, Vice President at Luuceo Consulting
  • Quin MacKenzie, Lead Executive Officer at Luuceo Consulting
