In September 2022, BCIT deployed multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all faculty, staff, and contractors to improve our cybersecurity and remain compliant with information security policies.
Starting in September 2023, BCIT will introduce MFA for students.
About BCIT MFA
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a multi-step account login process that requires users to enter more information than just a password. For example, along with the password, users might be asked to enter a code sent to their device, use a security key, or scan a fingerprint. A second form of authentication can help prevent unauthorized account access if a password has been compromised.
For Students

All BCIT Students are recommended to enrol in MFA using Microsoft Authenticator. This will be mandatory from January 15, 2024.
