BCIT is replacing Zoom with Microsoft Teams

BCIT announced in December 2023 that it is implementing Microsoft Teams across the Institute to unify our learning and working tools under the Microsoft 365 environment.

The dynamic capabilities of Teams meetings, chat, and file-sharing bring exciting improvements that will increase collaboration and productivity at the Institute.

Microsoft Teams is available to all BCIT employees. Zoom is no longer accessible to staff as of April 20, 2024. To minimize disruption to instruction and teaching, Zoom is accessible to full-time faculty until May 31 and Flexible Learning faculty until June 30.

Explore resources on Knowledge Base and watch a recording of a training session to ensure a smooth transition to the platform.

For instructors only: Access Class on the Learning Hub

Explore the new virtual teaching tool “Class” on the Learning Hub. Learn how to use Class before Bongo and Zoom are no longer offered by BCIT. Bongo will be accessible until May 26.

Class is tailored to meet the diverse needs of instructors, offering more teaching functionality than Bongo and Zoom that will help further facilitate engaging learning experiences. This platform integrates course content in the Learning Hub and allows for automatic attendance tracking, hosting interactive online lectures, taking automatic attendance, facilitating student feedback, and more.

If you are an instructor, we encourage you to learn how to integrate Class into your courses.
