To what extent is sustainability addressed at urban scale & how closely aligned is it with Earth’s productive capacity?

The article asks what role is given to living within Earth’s productive capacity by cities in the quest for urban sustainability and how comprehensively are high-income cities assessing and reducing their impact. Although climate action remains foremost in cities’ sustainability efforts, living within Earth’s carrying capacity is the ultimate goal and our research reveals the journey is still a long one.
