Step 2: Service Fees

For the ECA application, all fees are in Canadian dollars (CAD).

Standard service

$200 CAD per educational credential, which includes:

• Two original hard copies of the assessment
• Secure electronic access by IRCC to view your report online
• Standard regular mail postage (no tracking)

Updating from a General Application to an ECA

$150 CAD per credential for updating a pre-existing general evaluation report to ECA for immigration purposes, which includes:

• Two original hard copies of the assessment
• Secure electronic access by IRCC to view your report online
• Standard regular mail postage (no tracking)

ECA for the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)

$200 CAD per credential for new applications

$150 CAD per credential for those applicants that have an existing ECA

• Two original hard copies of the assessment
• Standard regular mail postage (no tracking)
• Secure electronic transmission to the CNO

Additional copies of an ECA report

$20 CAD per extra evaluation report, which includes:

• One original hard copy of the evaluation report sent directly from ICES to any recipient.
• Standard regular mail postage (no tracking)

QR code – electronic copy

For clients that have an online ICES account, we are able to offer the ECA as a PDF via a QR code for a fee of $50 (CAD). This option can be selected at the time the initial application has been submitted or after the ECA has been completed. At this time, there is no option to order an electronic copy for clients that do not have access to the online platform or have chosen to apply by mail. The digital copy is meant to be viewed online only; there are no printing privileges included.

ECA renewal

The ECA is valid for 5 years from the date the assessment was completed.  It may be renewed only after the 5-year time frame has expired. The fee is $50 (CAD), which includes:

• Two original hard copies of the assessment
• Secure electronic access by IRCC to view your report online
• Standard regular mail postage (no tracking)

Courier delivery

ICES offers courier delivery of your ECA Report once it has been completed. This service is optional but recommended, as regular mail service does not provide tracking. You can select courier service or regular mail when you submit your online application.

Courier delivery fees:

• Domestic Courier within Canada: $26 CAD
• US and International Courier: $75 CAD

Restrictions to courier delivery

Restrictions to courier delivery service:

• There are certain countries where a courier service cannot be used. Please refer to our News & Updates page for a comprehensive list of countries where couriers cannot be used.
• Courier deliveries cannot be made to post office box numbers. If your only address is a post office box, you must provide a valid shipping address if you wish to use a courier.
• You can choose for ICES to send your final evaluation report by regular mail or by courier delivery service. There is no tracking for regular mail. Courier delivery services are recommended, as you are able to track your deliveries.
• If there’s a problem with your mailing address and the courier company is unable to deliver your package, the courier company may elect to abandon the package and deem it undeliverable. Any additional costs associated with resending are the responsibility of the applicant.

Non-sufficient funds

If ICES receives a cheque that does not cash due to insufficient funds, an additional fee of $50 will be charged.  The evaluation will not be released until all fees have been paid in full.

Online

Our online application portal accepts payment by credit card only. It will not accept debit cards.

By mail

Payment must be included with all applications sent by mail or courier. Do not send an application without payment, as it will be returned to you. Payment by mail is accepted by credit card, bank draft, money order, or certified check. Cheques, bank drafts, and money orders must be made out to International Credential Evaluation Service.

In-person

At this time, in-person service is suspended. Student Enrolment & Information Services is not accepting applications or processing payments. A drop box is the alternate option should you choose to come in person. We encourage all applicants to apply online or by mail.

Cancellation and refunds

There are no refunds for ECA applications. ICES is not responsible for document requirements that cannot be met. Please ensure all requirements can be met before proceeding with an application, as no refund will be issued after the fact. Furthermore, we do not offer a refund based on our timelines or if you decide you no longer require the assessment.
