COVID-19 notice

As of August 23, 2021, BCIT will begin to offer limited in-person services. Please continue to apply either online or by mail. BCIT will not be accepting ICES applications or payments in person and only drop off service will be offered (within regular scheduled hours) for any applicants who arrive in person. Student Information and Enrollment Services is available 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Due to limited staffing levels, ICES will continue to offer all services by email and online only. No phone service is currently available.

Although the Covid-19 pandemic has affected regular operations for many institutions, please note our requirements remain in place without exception. If official documents are required for the type of assessment you wish to apply for, please ensure the requirements can be met before an application is submitted.

Disrupted mail service

Effective immediately, all outgoing mail and courier service to Afghanistan has been suspended. If you have selected your completed report to be sent to an address in Afghanistan, please provide ICES with an alternate address.

The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted mail service both outgoing and incoming to many countries throughout the world. Some countries have suspended mail service altogether whereas in other areas it might be significantly delayed. ICES is not able to provide estimated delivery times for mail. If that is what you require, you may wish to contact your local postal service.

  • Here’s the update from Canada Post, you can find specific information about disruptions in your country here.
  • Courier service is also impacted. Again, in some cases it has been suspended completely and in other cases there are severe delays. Also due to social distancing measures, there may be no signature requested at the time of delivery. For Domestic courier, please see the UPS services alerts. For International courier, please see the DHL service alerts.  ICES is unable to provide estimated delivery times.

Mail and Courier Restrictions

Canada Post has suspended all mail services to Syria. Please see this notification of the OFAC trade embargo for more information. If you apply and your return address is in Syria, we will not be able to offer any mail or courier service. In this case, please provide an alternate address for the delivery of your assessment.

International courier is suspended to the following countries:

  • Afghanistan
  • Cuba
  • Iran
  • Kosovo
  • Kyrgyzstan
  • North Korea
  • Somalia
  • Sudan
  • Syria
  • Turkmenistan

If you have applied and your return address is to one of the above countries, we will require an alternate address for delivery.
