Chemical Sciences is Now Chemical and Environmental Technology
For all new students:
For students who started in 2009 or earlier:
- Chemical Sciences - Environmental Chemistry Option
- Chemical Sciences - Industrial Chemistry Option
- Chemical Sciences - Pulp and Paper Option
The Chemical Sciences program has a long history of preparing highly-skilled, versatile technologists for great careers in a wide variety of analytical, environmental and process industries. A process of continuous improvement in individual courses has kept the program up-to-date and relevant. Two big trends have affected the courses in all three of the options:
- the need to integrate concern for the environment across the curriculum and;
- the need to concentrate on technical knowledge and skills that are transferable to many industries.
A transition plan is underway. Students who began the Chemical Sciences program in 2008 or 2009 will complete the program configuration that they started. Students who enter in 2010 or later will follow the new Chemical and Environmental Technology program configuration.
Our current and future graduates have a great set of skills! The Chemical and Environmental Technology will continue to provide excellent candidates for all of the industries currently served by Chemical Sciences. There will continue to be opportunities for qualified graduates to transfer into a choice of degree programs. For students, graduates and employers, this transition will be seamless.
