Civil engineering

Considering a career in Civil Engineering? BCIT's 4-year full-time Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering contains an optional exit after year two where you can earn a Diploma of Technology in Civil Engineering Technology. These credentials will provide you with the skills to practise in this popular field as either a civil technologist or as a civil engineer, and also allow you to get on the path to further studies.

Civil technology part time studies and distance education

BCIT’s Civil Technology programs provide continuing education and professional development opportunities for individuals in various civil technology fields. You can take just one or two courses or complete an Associate Certificate, Intermediate Certificate, or Certificate of Technology. If, however, your goal includes a Diploma of Technology or a Bachelor of Engineering Degree, you will need to enter the full-time Civil Engineering program, and you should be aware that there is no advanced placement into that program. Part time programs

Civil Technology Part time Studies (PTS) offers evening courses held in classrooms or labs at BCIT’s Burnaby Campus. You can register in either the Part-time Intermediate Certificate or the Part-time Certificate of Technology program, or you can register for single course offerings. For single courses, perform a search for courses in the subjects that interest you by entering keywords in the subject area and selecting “course” or download the Part-time Studies flyer.

Distance programs

Civil Technology Distance Education (DE) programs and courses cover a variety of subject areas and allow you start whenever you want and learn at home at your own pace. You can take just a course or two, or you can register in one of the following programs and options:
