Dr. Jennie Moore is inspiring future generations of changemakers

She also founded the BCIT Centre for Ecocities, which has supported more than 30 municipalities across BC and continues to advance education and training in ecological footprint analysis through partnerships with post-secondary institutions.
As Faculty Emerita, Jennie will continue contributing her expertise to support BCIT’s sustainability initiatives and inspire future generations of changemakers.
Robert Nason is a pioneer in broadcast education
For more than five decades, Robert Nason has helped shape broadcast education at BCIT and across BC.
Rob joined the BCIT Broadcast and Media Communications Television and Video Production program in 1971. Prior to BCIT, he served in numerous roles including television operations technician, technical director, director, and technical production. His work spanned educational programming, news, music, variety, and live sports, in organizations across Canada, the US, and England.
In the late 1970s, Rob was instrumental in developing an interactive television initiative that connected BCIT instructors with students in communities throughout BC. Long before online learning became part of everyday life, the project showcased how technology could broaden access to education while maintaining meaningful connections between instructors and learners.
He later documented the project in a report for the Department of Communications at New York University (NYU), and it was so successful that it would later become known as the Knowledge Network of BC.
Rob has taught well over 1,000 students during his career, and even after graduation, many of them returned to visit him at BCIT to share career updates and reconnect, reflecting the lasting impression he made as an educator and mentor.
As Faculty Emeritus, Rob will continue to support BCIT’s leadership in broadcast and journalism education by sharing his expertise and helping strengthen connections between the Institute and industry.
