CITX 1110 - A+ Hardware Technician
A+ Certified Technicians possess knowledge and skills essential for employment as computer service technicians. This course utilizes the hardware and software technologies used in today's workplace and aligns with the topics examined in the A+ certification exam. The course includes lab activities in which students work with computer hardware and operating systems software to develop troubleshooting skills, assemble and configure computers, add peripherals, and customize the operation of the computer. It is recommended that students complete CITX 0120 Computer Hardware Setup & Configuration or have basic knowledge of the components of a computer prior to attending this course. (6 Credits)

CITX 1160 - Cisco CCNA Level 1
Instruction will cover the fundamentals of LANs, WANs, routers, router programming, networking, network standards, and terminology. Topics also include the OSI model, cabling, cabling tools, TCP/IP protocol suite including IP addressing and subnetting. A close look at Ethernet and the functionality of the Data-Link and Physical layers allow students to visualize and describe communication between computers and systems. Students will also learn valuable network problem solving techniques and concepts. It is recommended that students have experience setting up home networks prior to attending this course. Students must have access to a multimedia-capable PC. (6 Credits)

CITX 2200 - Microsoft Server Level 1
This course introduces students to installing, configuring, managing, and supporting a network infrastructure using the most current Microsoft server platform. Topics include: TCP/IP settings and services, installing and configuring DNS, DHCP, network security, Certificate Services, Internet Protocol Security (IPSec), Software Update Services, Routing and Remote Access, File Services, Print Services, and network maintenance. It is recommended that students take Implementing Windows Workstation or have experience with configuration of Microsoft client platforms prior to attending this course. Prerequisite: CITX 2165 is highly recommended. (6 Credits)

CITX 2210 - Linux Essentials
This course provides students with insight into the Linux operating system and reviews core skills in configuration and installation of the operating system. Topics include effectively using, customizing, and scripting common command line utilities. Students develop an understanding of file systems, users and groups, the Bash shell, process management, text editors, searching and organizing data, and various applications. It is recommended that novices take Linux Installation & Configuration prior to attending. Prerequisite: CITX 2180 is highly recommended. (6 Credits)
