Acoustics lab
The acoustic lab has been developing since 2010 into one of Western Canada’s most advanced and well equipped acoustic laboratory. The lab is outfitted with the following equipment:

- Duel channel real–time analyzers handheld for environmental sound and vibrations measurements
- 4 channel and 8 channels analyzers for laboratory measurements
- Omni-directional speakers and directional directions speakers for room acoustics and building assembly research
- HEAD-Shoulder-Unit for binaural recordings for psychoacoustics research
- Zoom H3-VR with built-in ambisonics microphones for ambient sound recording
- Tapping machine for impact testing on floors and roofs
- Impedance tube for measurement of absorption coefficient of novel materials and product development
- Intensity probe for sound transmission and sound power emission
- Acoustics camera, 40 microphone array for sound source localization

- 1:10 scale anechoic chamber for free-field simulation
- 80 m3 reverberation chamber for quantifying full scale panel assembly, cut-off frequency 125 Hz
- Indoor-to-outdoor sound transmission suite with removable panels for acoustic roof evaluation
