Full‑time diplomas you can finish in 24 months

If you want a comprehensive education with hands on skills and clinical practice placements that still gets you into the workforce quickly, BCIT Health Sciences offers several full‑time diploma programs designed to be completed within approximately two years. These include:

Biomedical Engineering Technology Diploma

Blend engineering and healthcare as you learn how to help develop, maintain, and improve medical technologies used in hospitals and clinics. Biomedical Engineering Technologists make sure the equipment needed to help patients is ready and operational when required.

Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI) Diploma

Magnetic Resonance Imaging technologists operate MRI scanners to produce high-quality cross-sectional, three-dimensional, and functional images of soft tissues and internal structures using magnetic fields rather than ionizing radiation. MRI technologists apply their knowledge in anatomy, pathology, physics, and patient safety during these non-invasive imaging exams.

Medical Radiography Diploma

Medical Radiography graduates work in fast-paced technology-driven environments with x-ray, CT, and mammography. Medical Radiography technologists work closely with patients from all walks of life where no two patients’ needs are the same.

Nuclear Medicine Technology Diploma

Nuclear medicine is another branch of medical imaging that uses biological tracers combined with radioactive material to produce detailed images or videos of the body’s functions and structures. Nuclear medicine is also advancing in the exciting area of Theranostics, which combines targeted therapy and diagnostic imaging for more effective treatment of different disorders, including certain cancers.

Cardiology Technology Diploma

Cardiology Technologists perform non-invasive diagnostic tests to analyze the electrical activity of the heart during ECGs, stress testing and Holter monitoring.  This program is under the Flexible learning model, and students can take courses at their own pace, and complete clinical time often close to home, in many provinces in Canada.

Food Processing, Safety, and Quality Diploma

If you’re drawn to the science of food and keeping consumers safe, this program prepares you to work in food quality, safety and product development roles. With two industry capstone projects, BCIT Food Processing, Safety, and Quality provides the connections you need to start your career.

Occupational Health & Safety
