Choose your learning pathway: You can take XZEB 1500 on its own, continue to XZEB 1510 to build your portfolio-level skills, or complete all three courses to earn the full microcredential. Courses must be completed sequentially: XZEB 1500 → XZEB 1510 → XZEB 1520.

The microcredential consists of three sequential courses, building progressively from foundational knowledge to portfolio planning and project-level investment decisions. Each course includes four 3-hour in-person sessions, delivered once a week over four consecutive weeks, complemented by supplementary self-directed learning.

Throughout the microcredential, you’ll work with an integrated workbook and a realistic case study designed to help you apply concepts to real-world building asset management decisions.

Each course includes a dedicated analytical workbook that supports in-class activities and take-home assignments. The workbooks provide structured exercises, data, calculations, and outputs that guide you through the process of assessing risks and opportunities, developing a portfolio roadmap, and building a project business case.

Where appropriate, you’ll also have the opportunity to work with your own organizational data, helping you connect the learning directly to your work.

A case study that grows with you

An integrated synthetic case study follows you through all three courses, introducing information progressively at the organization, portfolio, and building levels. This provides a consistent, realistic context for applying the tools and making decisions throughout the microcredential.

As part of the pilot cohort, participants are eligible for a 100% tuition waiver for the full microcredential.

In exchange, pilot participants will be asked to complete brief 6- and 12-month status check-ins to help us understand how the learning is being applied in practice. These check-ins will explore how participants have used the tools and approaches within their organizations and whether they have been able to advance climate-aligned actions.
