Construction of contemporary educational facilities for skilled trades and technology training

Robert Bosa Carpentry Pavilion and the Marine and Mass Timber Pavilion

I am sharing an update on the Strategic Plan deliverable, “Advance construction of contemporary educational facilities for skilled trades and technology training.” This important work supports our commitment to transform teaching and learning at BCIT.

Facilities Development is currently in the process of delivering the Robert Bosa Carpentry Pavilion, the Marine and Mass Timber Pavilion, the Concert Properties Centre for Trades and Technology, and the Mott Electric Pavilion.

Currently, construction of the Robert Bosa Carpentry Pavilion and the Marine and Mass Timber Pavilion (pictured above) is well under way. The Concert Properties Centre is being tendered to Subtrades, and the Mott Electric Pavilion will be tendered in July.

The four new facilities underway are part of BCIT’s Trades and Technology Complex, a bold initiative to modernize the delivery of training in trades (Marine and Mass Timber Pavilion, Rober Bosa Carpentry Pavilion, and Mott Electric Pavilion) and technology (Concert Properties Centre).

We expect the Marine and Mass Timber Pavilion to be completed and turned over later in 2026, and the Robert Bosa Carpentry Pavilion to be complete and turned over mid-2027. The Mott Electric Pavilion is scheduled to be completed spring 2028 and the Concert Properties Centre early 2029.

Thank you,

Natalka Lubiw
