Launching the BCIT Collider Project

BCIT Collider Project

I’m pleased to share an update on the launch of The Collider Project, BCIT’s first leader-in-residence mentorship program, where industry intelligence meets applied education.

This exciting and ambitious work supports our strategic commitment to enrich partner and industry experiences at BCIT. The Collider Project, in its inaugural year, will create opportunities for our students to engage in a one-day, on-campus experience learning from an industry titan – intended to both inspire students while broadening their understanding of various career paths.

Under the leadership of the Office of the Vice President, External, our focus has been on community consultation, program development, and recruitment of the inaugural selection of industry leaders for 26/27. Planning has commenced to welcome our first leader to campus this Spring, the Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, P.C. former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada.

Rather than traditional mentorship, the Collider Project will create a space for students where ideas, experiences, and people intersect to enable intelligent exchange with those who’ve built industries and those positioned to transform them. It is leadership pipeline development, innovation intelligence, and competitive advantage wrapped into an immersive experience at BCIT.

We look forward to meeting our year-end milestones through formalizing the first cohort of industry leaders, executing an immersive experience for our students, and reporting back on our successes and optimizations for year two.
