Five remarkable leaders whose impact spans education, community building, Indigenous leadership, mentorship, and service were honoured at the BCIT Vision Awards 2026 on October 29, 2026. Before an audience of more than 300 alumni, industry partners, donors, students, employees, and community leaders, BCIT celebrated recipients whose contributions are creating opportunities for others and strengthening communities across British Columbia.
Hosted by BCIT alumnus Kevin Lim (Broadcast and Media Communications – Radio), the evening began with an Indigenous Welcome from Elder Sam George of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation, followed by remarks from Don Matthews, Chair of the BCIT Board of Governors, Dr. Jeff Zabudsky, President of BCIT, and Amanda Gomes, President of the BCIT Alumni Association.
In his remarks, Don Matthews congratulated the recipients for the impact they have made through their careers, leadership, and service.
“Your accomplishments demonstrate what is possible when knowledge is put into action to create a better future.”
While their paths are very different, each recipient shares a common belief that meaningful change happens when knowledge, leadership, and service are used to create opportunities for others. Whether through mentorship, teaching, community building, Indigenous advocacy, or public service, their contributions continue to shape lives and strengthen communities across the province.
