Transforming leave and time reporting for employees at BCIT

We are sharing an update on the Strategic Plan deliverable “Implement a web time entry module to automate timesheet submission and processing, and leave of absence tracking, creating a better overall user experience while enhancing financial internal controls.” This work supports our commitment to catalyze digital transformation at BCIT.

Human Resources, IT Services, and Financial Services are working together to digitally transform the employee experience in Leave and Time Reporting in Banner. By automating these processes, we will reduce customizations in Banner and bring BCIT’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system one step closer to cloud readiness.

The project is now in the configuration and testing stage with the pilot group planned to go live in early 2026.  Payroll system customizations have also been significantly removed as part of this initiative.

We are currently mapping out the full implementation plan and will provide updates in due course.
