We share a short update on the Strategic Plan deliverable led by Derrick Underwood, Director, Enterprise Technology, on our commitment to achieve a people-focused organization.
What is the focus of your deliverable?
Along with my team, I am focused on the delivery of a new integration platform.
What are some of your accomplishments to date?
We are thrilled to share the progress that we’ve made to date:
- We have selected a tool to fulfill our needs. We evaluated tools we already have access to, as well as some competitors in the marketplace and identified the best solution for BCIT.
- Once we selected a tool, we worked with the vendor and our internal teams to create an implementation plan. This plan makes the tool available for us to start building more nimble integration components.
- We have kicked off the project to execute the implementation plan. With work underway, we expect completion in the fall of 2020.
What’s next for your initiative?
When we complete the implementation of the selected tool, we will start changing our existing systems and integration components to leverage the new capabilities. It will be easier for us to connect systems, and different systems will be able to access data in other systems securely and in a more timely manner.
