The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) has been honoured with the 2025 Canadian Workplace Well-Being Award for its leadership in workplace well-being. Presented by the Canadian Positive Psychology Association and Workplace Strategies for Mental Health Compliments of Canada Life, the award celebrates organizations that foster a caring workplace culture by providing wellness and psychological safety support that enables employees to flourish and succeed.

Holistic wellness to support employees

As one of BC’s largest post-secondary institutes with more than 2,800 employees across five campuses, BCIT is dedicated to helping employees thrive. This recognition particularly highlights the impact of the BCIT Wellness Works program, a resource developed for employees that takes a holistic approach to wellness by supporting their emotional, mental, physical, financial, social, and spiritual health. The program provides wellness training for leaders, flexible work arrangements, and expanded access to all employees across the Institute.

Putting people-first

The award further demonstrates BCIT’s commitment to being a people-first organization and aligns with being named one of BC’s Top Employers for 15  consecutive years. “This incredible recognition belongs to our entire community and is a testament to the many caring, knowledgeable wellness champions that exist across BCIT,” says Chris Hudson, Vice President, People, Culture, and Inclusion at BCIT.
