
The BCIT Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of three accomplished leaders to its Board of Directors: Kiel Landrigan, Amanda Robinson, and Carolynn Ryan. Each brings valuable expertise, a commitment to community, and a passion for advancing BCIT’s vision of empowering people, shaping BC, and inspiring global progress.
Kiel Landrigan is Portfolio Manager and Investment Advisor at TD Wealth Private Investment Advice. Kiel is a proud BCIT alumnus, having graduated from the Financial Planning program in 2008. Over the past 16 years, he has built a successful practice as a Senior Portfolio Manager at TD Wealth, where he helps families achieve their financial goals.
Deeply engaged with the BCIT community, Kiel served on the BCIT Alumni Association Board of Directors for seven years – bringing valuable insight into the needs of students and the aspirations of the Institute.
Amanda Robinson is Vice President, Legal and Corporate Secretary at Teck Resources Limited, and brings extensive legal expertise and a strong background in governance to the BCIT Foundation Board.
Amanda began her career at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP, Vancouver’s largest law firm, where she advised public mining companies on financing, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. In 2018, she joined Teck Resources Limited as Corporate Secretary and was appointed Vice President, Legal and Corporate Secretary in 2023.
Her experience in both private practice and corporate leadership positions makes her a valuable addition to the Foundation Board.
Carolynn Ryan is Senior Vice President, People, and Chief Human Resources Officer at BC Hydro. With a career spanning more than three decades in the Crown Corporation sector, Carolynn brings a wealth of experience in people leadership and organizational development. In her current role, she oversees talent acquisition, people development, inclusion and diversity, labour relations, total rewards, and ethics.
Her deep expertise in labour relations and human resources will help support the Foundation’s mission of building capacity for BCIT and its students.
In addition to these new appointments, the Foundation is pleased to announce updates to its Board leadership:
Guy Elliott has been appointed Chair of the Board. A Vancouver-based finance executive, Guy is Vice President of Finance at Lithium Americas Corp. With an engineering background and designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant, he brings both technical and strategic expertise from senior roles at Teck Resources, Rocky Mountaineer, Deloitte, KGHM, and Ernst & Young. Guy has served on the BCIT Foundation Board since 2015.
David Ryan has been named Secretary. A BCIT Broadcast Journalism graduate, David is a senior communications advisor with over 20 years of experience in media relations, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management across diverse industries. He has served on the BCIT Foundation Board since 2022.
Brent Charleton will serve as Treasurer. A BCIT Marketing Management – Entrepreneurship graduate, Brent is President and CEO of EnWave Corporation, a publicly traded technology company with a global presence. A CFA and former professional basketball player, he was recognized as a Business in Vancouver Top 40 Under Forty honoree in 2019. Brent has served on the BCIT Foundation Board since 2024.
