The British Columbia Institute of Technology is proud to celebrate Carol Martina, who received the Honorary Career Education Society (CES) Life Membership Award at the 48th Annual CES Fall Conference. This recognition highlights Carol’s outstanding contributions to career education and her unwavering commitment to supporting students and educators across British Columbia.
Carol retired earlier this year after a rewarding 20-year career at BCIT, where she built strong partnerships with secondary schools and championed programs that opened doors for students to explore diverse post-secondary opportunities and career pathways.
“The CES Board of Directors recognizes Carol’s many years of creativity and leadership in dual credit programming offered at BCIT,” says Mark Reid, CES Director and Vancouver School Board Career Programs Teacher. “In my personal collaboration with Carol, I watched her leverage opportunities and remove obstacles for students facing all sorts of barriers. She cares about a student’s story and personal vision.”
The CES Fall Conference, BC’s largest gathering of career educators, counsellors, and industry leaders, brought together more than 350 participants for two days of professional development, networking, and collaboration under the theme “Putting the Pieces Together.”
Congratulations to Carol on this well-deserved honour and thank you to the Career Education Society of BC for hosting an event that fosters collaboration, professional growth, and innovative approaches to career education across the province.
BCIT looks forward to continuing to partner with educators across the province in empowering future generations of students in pursuing purpose-driven careers.
