After extensive consultation with food industry employers, recent graduates, and current students, the revised title offers a clearer understanding of the program’s content and career outcomes.
The Diploma in Food Processing, Safety, and Quality emphasizes its strong focus on food manufacturing, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and food safety systems. British Columbia (BC)’s food and beverage processing industry is the second-largest manufacturing sector in the province, employing more than 39,000 people and contributing over $12 billion annually to the economy. With over 3,200 companies operating in BC, aligning program titles with industry expectations is essential for career readiness and recognition.
Graduates of the program enjoy strong employment prospects in roles such as:

In fact, over 76% of recent grads report securing industry-related employment within two months of completing the diploma and 96% within 6 months.
