The Zero Energy & Emissions Building (ZEB) Learning Centre supports the construction industry with training in Net Zero Energy and Zero Emissions design and construction, energy management, and building retrofits. We provide a full suite of microcredential programs, individual courses, and private group training, all within flexible learning environments that provide students with practical training from industry experts. We also manage the High Performance Building Lab where we provide innovative hands-on training in zero energy and emissions building, using an envelope-first approach.

Visit the High Performance Building Lab
Located on the BCIT Burnaby campus, the High Performance Building Lab (HPBL) is the first of its kind in Canada. Developed in partnership with BC Housing, BC Hydro, Vancity, the Real Estate Foundation of BC, FortisBC, and other industry partners, the HPBL enables hands-on training in zero energy and emissions building, using an envelope-first approach. With three integrated zones, the lab creates space for education that is elevating the state of high performance building in BC.
