SUMMARY:Building Science Master's Degree Programs Info Session
DESCRIPTION:Join us in person or online on Wednesday\, March 18\, 2026\, from 5:00 – 6:30 pm for an info session about the Master of Engineering (MEng) in Building Science\, and the Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Building Engineering/Building Science at BCIT. Faculty will present\, highlighting key program features\, and answer questions from attendees. \nJoin us in person at Building NW4(Health Science Centre)\, Room 1072\, or online for this upcoming information session. For online attendees\, a Teams link will be shared a few days before the event. \nRegister for the info session using the form below. \nIf you have any questions\, please contact BCIT_Buildingscience@bcit.ca \nProgram Information \nBuilding Science is the study of the fundamental properties and behaviours of building components\, technologies and systems under real-world conditions; and their application to the design of durable\, healthy\, comfortable and sustainable buildings. The building systems of interest are the building envelope\, heating\, cooling\, and ventilation systems\, which are all tightly interconnected. Professionals in this field drive innovation in building design and operation\, towards more sustainable and climate-resilient buildings. \nThe MEng program is designed for students to enter the exciting field of building science. Students learn state-of-the-art\, industry-ready skills from a combination of theoretical principles\, applied research projects\, practical experiences\, and strong industry connections. Graduates are ready for a range of roles from building design and consulting firms\, facility management companies\, to municipal facility planning and management departments. \nThe MASc program is also designed for students to enter the exciting field of building science\, but with more emphasis on research and fundamentals. Under the supervision of faculty experts\, students apply field measurements\, laboratory experiments\, and advanced modeling techniques\, to explore innovative solutions to pressing industry problems. The core research areas are building materials\, building envelope design and remediation\, building energy performance\, and indoor air quality and acoustics.
