VanArts - BCIT Pathway

Vancouver Institute of Media Arts (VanArts) and British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) have partnered to create the VanArts-BCIT Pathway: a cross-institutional agreement enabling VanArts graduates entry into BCIT’s School of Business. If you complete the entire pathway you will have the opportunity to earn a BCIT Business Management Advanced Diploma and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).

What is the VanArts - BCIT Pathway?

The VanArts - BCIT Pathway program gives you the knowledge and skills necessary to advance in your career by expanding your skills in business management, strategic and critical thinking. After completing BCIT's Business Management Advanced Diploma, international students may apply for a post-graduate work permit. International students looking to obtain a study permit or work permit should contact Canadian Immigration & Citizenship.

Year 1: VanArts Professional Diploma

VanArts is one of the world’s top ranked post-secondary schools for visual, media and performing arts. Your study experience includes a world-class faculty of industry professionals, specialized curriculum, small class sizes, and an international network of students, all located in Vancouver, a leading hub for media & tech industries right across the street from BCIT’s downtown campus. It all starts by completing the one-year professional diploma program of your choice.

Year 2: BCIT Advanced Diploma in Business Management

After completing a VanArts program, you are ready to expand your knowledge and cultivate business management skills in BCIT's Business Management Advanced Diploma. This 8-month program provides an introduction to current business practices, preparing you to apply a disciplined and professional approach to management.

Year 3: Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (Optional)

After completing BCIT's Business Management Advanced Diploma you have the option to enroll in BCIT's Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). This 12 month degree emphasizes critical and strategic thinking and provides you the opportunity to be better prepared for career advancement by enhancing the skills developed in your diploma programs at BCIT and VanArts.

Enter the Workforce:

After completing either a VanArts Professional Diploma or BCIT’s Business Management Advanced Diploma, you may enter the workforce. Please note: international students are eligible to apply to the Canadian Immigration and Citizens Office for a post-graduate work permit upon completion of BCIT’s Business Management Advanced Diploma.
