Cold Water Policy in Residences

Making the cost of the cold water cycle 50 cents cheaper than hot water motivates students in residences to think twice before using energy-intensive hot water when doing their laundry.

The project featured in this photo saves BCIT the equivalent of 24,000 kWh per year, the same amount of energy that would be produced by 120 solar panels installed on BCIT campus at a cost of $96,000. Actual cost of implementing this project at BCIT: $0.
