BCIT Counts Down to Ecocity 2019
BCIT is proud to host the Ecocity World Summit on October 7-11, 2019.
Today’s world faces complex environmental and social sustainability challenges, from rapid urbanization, to climate change, to ecosystem threats, and more.
The Ecocity world forum brings together global thought leaders to address these challenges while building cities in balance with nature.
Each month, the Countdown to Ecocity series highlights BCIT’s leadership – from innovations in operations, to faculty research and student initiatives – in the face of these challenges.

About the Ecocity World Summit
The Ecocity World Summit is the longest-standing international conference focused on building cities in balance with nature. It is a biennial event with over 1000 delegates from around the world.
The 2019 conference will bring focus to the International Ecocity Standards (IES) which were developed through a decade-long partnership between Ecocity Builders and BCIT School of Construction and the Environment.
If you are interested in being a delegate, sponsor, or submitting an abstract, feel free to contact Marita Luk.
While the BCIT School of Construction and the Environment is convening this year’s conference program, all schools and departments are encouraged to participate. Contact Sarah Campbell for more information on BCIT community participation.
